How long have they been around?: well there were rumblings around 2002 I recall

What was the first song you heard from them?: it was on Snakenet Metal Radio, which means it was probably Demon of the Fall

What kind of music do they play?: if you start at “metal” and just kind of widen the lens from there you get a pretty good idea of it. they’re so widely influenced, it’s crazy

Do any of your friends like this band?: Nah, but they humour me.
Is this band mainstream or indie?: So indie, they’ve split up though :(

What are their lyrics usually about?: It’s more the style than the meaning, but they tend to be vaguely feminist, lonely, angry, and clever.

Are they still together?: No :( Amanda Palmer’s solo stuff is pretty good but it’s, well, Brianless.

Why do you like this band?: they’ve occurred in the right context twice in my life. silent alarm played when I met Roshni again for the first time in 4 years. intimacy is about a breakup and was released during my breakup. weekend in the city was shit, though.

Why do you like this band?: because they’re a bit cheesy but still quite deep.

Band 1: FOB: I’m going for the one that goes “You only help me out like this because you don’t know who I really am / I used to waste my time dreaming of being alive (now I only waste it dreaming of you)”. I like that one.

perhaps I ought to introduce myself. hello, I’m Reid, I do criminology and think it’s pretty awesome My favourite pokemon is farfetch’d, he is an absolute dick, and he has a leek. I spend part of my time in London and part in Lancaster. My favourite metalocalypse character is Nathan. I think Hannah Montana: The Movie is the best postmodern art film I’ve ever seen and I will explain this to you but you will still think I just watched it cause Miley Cyrus is hot; we’re both right, in a way.

You know what I don’t like? I don’t like people who go AAAAAH IT’S THE NEW FACEBOOK WHY CAN’T IT BEL IKE IT USED TO BE AND WHAT’S TWITTER ANYWAY. I like to experiment with new toys on the web! And this is one. Maybe it’ll be rubbish. But maybe we’ll all be doing it one day and I’ll be able to say YEAH I USED TUMBLR BEFORE IT WAS COOL. although is it already cool? who knows.
